Bitter about an ex? Need some music to get you through the rough times? You should check out the group Exes of Evil. They bring you the pop music you've been wishing for. The group is made up of Ryan Siegel and Evan Anderson. They put out their new EP, 909's & Valentine's this past Valentine's Day. Songs featuring the talented Mandy Ventrice and Shermanelli. Musical Time Machine

Sometimes it takes one little song to send you back in time. I experienced this last week when I went to see The Get Up Kids at Webster Hall. It had been almost nine years since the one and only time I saw the band live. I was extremely excited. This band was a huge part of my life when I was 15. I had to own every album and listen to them on repeat. It was so great to be in the same room as them again. To make the night even better I went to this show with the same friend I saw them with all those years it ago, Krista , my concert partner in crime. It really took us back. Let me tell you this, The Get Up Kids did not disappoint. They were just as good as they were all those years before. The crowd didn't even skip a beat when the band's sound went out during a song, they just took over singing for the band. It was such a great vibe going on through the room. Everyone was so into. Such a great show to be a part of. I only wish that all of my fellow Get Up Kid fans could have been standing in that room with me. I suggest that everyone go out and get their latest album, There Are Rules.

Here is a video of two of my favorites songs, I'll Catch You and Ten Minutes, that they just happened to perform back to back last week. Enjoy!

Just to make the night a even better, two of my friends band were the first band on the lineup. It is pretty amazing to watch your friends stand up on stage, doing what they do best, to a huge crowd. The name of the band is Brian Bonz and the Major Crimes. The great friend that I am had no idea they would be the opening band till two nights before the show. So this news elevated my excitement. I haven't seen Brian and his band play in quite a while, but always keeping up with his new stuff. I was eager to finally hear him perform the songs off the latest album,  As always him and his band were amazing. Wowing the crowd. Brian has a way of engaging the crowd with his humor. His makes the crowd feel like they are just sitting watching their friends. Spending my summers with Brian and his brother Mike, watching them play guitar around whatever campfire we sitting near will always be treasured memories for me. Watching them up on stage always takes me back to those memories. Something we share that the rest of the crowd can't touch. It makes it all the more special to me. If you have not heard of Brian Bonz than I suggest it is time you do. Your iPod will thank you, trust me. You can buy the new album, The Triborough Odyssey on iTunes.

Here is a video from Unrated NYC of Brian Bonz and The Major Crimes performing live. Enjoy!
